Dr. Perera received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University in 2015. Prior to earning his doctorate, Dr. Perera worked as a trainer in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts (MMA), providing training to elite athletes at the international levels. Dr. Perera’s expertise led him to head an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine clinic where he blended his experience as a combat sports athlete and trainer specializing in the management of movement dysfunction. He has produced evidence based physical therapy protocols to a variety of patient populations suffering from musculoskeletal, neurological, and vestibular disorders.
Dr. Perera has experience working with clients competing in the NCAA, NFL, Ironman, UFC, Bellator, Glory Kickboxing, International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), and International Federation of Muay Thai Associations (IFMA). Dr. Perera is passionate about providing evidence based care for his patients.
